Kartik Pandian Visits Jajpur District

Bhubaneswar:  As per the directive of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chairman of the 5T and Nabin Odisha, Shri Kartik Pandian, visited Jajpur district today. Shri Kartik Pandian participated in the Nua-O Fest and interacted with students from all colleges in Jajpur District.

During this interaction, he elaborated on the significant Cabinet decision made by the State Government regarding the Nua-O Scholarships for students enrolled in general degree and post-graduate programs in state universities, government, and non-government aided colleges, including aided Sanskrit colleges under the Higher Education Department.

He revealed that the minimum scholarship amount for male students would be Rs. 9,000 per year, and for female students, it would be Rs. 10,000 per year. Additionally, students from eligible SC/ST and Nirman Shramik families would receive Rs. 10,000 (male) and Rs. 11,000 (female) per annum.

All students are eligible for these scholarships, except those whose parents are income tax payees or permanent government employees. The Nua-O scholarships for the current academic year will be disbursed to eligible students’ bank accounts starting on February 20th and will be completed within this month.

He revealed that the minimum scholarship amount for male students would be Rs. 9,000 per year, and for female students, it would be Rs. 10,000 per year. Additionally, students from eligible SC/ST and Nirman Shramik families would receive Rs. 10,000 (male) and Rs. 11,000 (female) per annum.

A Nua-O Corpus fund of Rs. 300 crore will be established in the upcoming academic year. Students who excel in academic and various co-curricular activities will receive a higher scholarship amount from this corpus fund. Furthermore, by August, Nua-O Magic Smart Cards will be issued to all eligible students.

These cards will facilitate additional benefits such as bus/train travel, free WiFi, access to online courses, skill development, coaching programs, etc., based on performance and participation in various academic and extracurricular activities.

Shri Kartik Pandian expressed that this initiative marks a new era of student empowerment by the Honorable Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik towards realizing his vision of Nabin Odisha. He encouraged students to dream big and work hard to achieve their aspirations.
