Epsilon Carbon to establish Rs 10000 cr Integrated Carbon Complex at Jharsuguda in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Epsilon Carbon Pvt. Ltd., a prominent player in the carbon sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha, signaling a substantial commitment of Rs. 10,000 crores over the next decade. This visionary move by Epsilon Carbon is poised to revolutionize carbon manufacturing in India through the establishment of an Integrated Carbon Complex (ICC) situated in Jharsuguda, Odisha.

The Integrated Carbon Complex (ICC) will encompass three key carbon products, with specialty carbon capacity at 500,000 MT/annum, carbon black capacity at 300,000 MT/annum, and advanced materials capacity at 75,000 MT/annum.

Anticipated to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, this project is set to significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of the region. Epsilon Carbon is committed to fostering collaboration with local communities, channeling efforts into vital areas such as education, skill development, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Jharsuguda, with its flourishing industrial ecosystem, skilled labor pool, robust infrastructure, and business-friendly policies, emerges as the perfect locale for this ambitious venture. The project also leverages its proximity to major steel industries, ensuring a steady supply of raw materials. Additionally, Jharsuguda’s recognition as India’s aluminum hub, utilizing coal tar pitch extensively, enhances its strategic advantage. The well-connected ports like Paradip further facilitate seamless export operations.
