Elephant Death In Kuldiha Sanctuary: Two Forest Officials  Suspended

Balasore: In Balasore, the Similipal Field Director Office has suspended Forester Padmavati Behera and Forest Guard Pramila Sena from Hatikholia in connection with the recent elephant death within the Hatikholia section of the Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the Nilagiri forest range of Odisha’s Balasore district.

The suspension of both forest officials is attributed to alleged dereliction and negligence of duty that resulted in the unfortunate demise of the elephant within the sanctuary. The elephant’s carcass was discovered in the Nilagiri forest range a few days ago.

To fill the vacancies created by the suspensions, authorities have appointed Jayant Kumar Pradhan as the new Forester of the Hatikholia section, Manohar Singh as Forest Guard of Hatikholia Beat, and Ayushman Panda as Forest Guard of Mangalpur Beat.
