CM Naveen Inaugurates 29 New Police Stations in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 29 new police stations, outposts, and SDPO buildings across Odisha through a virtual platform. Addressing the occasion, the CM emphasized that with this significant enhancement in infrastructure and technological support, the Odisha Police will adopt a more professional approach in serving the people. He expressed gratitude to the police force and all those involved in realizing the vision of a safer Odisha. With a total cost exceeding Rs 53 Crore, today’s inauguration marks a concrete step toward a more secure and citizen-centric Odisha.
Implemented under the 5T initiatives, these infrastructures signify our commitment to fostering a safer environment and transforming law enforcement to establish positive relationships between the police and the public. Highlighting gender sensitivity and inclusivity, the CM stated, “My government has always prioritized gender sensitivity.” Each building is equipped with separate desks for women and children, as well as counseling rooms for victims. In Odisha, we adhere to the fundamental principle of inclusivity. I am pleased that each of these structures ensures “accessibility for all” with ramps and facilities for persons with disabilities.
The CM further emphasized the integration of state-of-the-art facilities such as Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems integration and surveillance cameras, leveraging technology for efficient law enforcement. Moderating the program, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Shri Kartik Pandian noted the sincere adherence of the police organization to the Mo Sarkar mandate, with positive feedback received from various quarters. He urged the police administration to adopt a more people-friendly approach.
Minister of State for Home Shri Tushar Kanti Behera, Police DG Shri Arun Kumar Sadangi, and senior officials from the home department and other police officers were present on the occasion.
