Biju Patnaik Award For Scientific Excellence Goes To Pravat Mohapatra And Bidyut Das

Bhubaneswar:The coveted “Biju Patnaik Award” for Scientific Excellence will be presented to Prof Pravat Kumar Mohapatra from Sambalpur for the year 2021, and Prof Bidyut Kumar Das from SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, for the year 2022. This esteemed award comes with a substantial cash prize of Rs. 2 Lakh, along with a medallion, memento, and citation.

The Odisha Bigyan Academy, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Department, has recently unveiled a series of prestigious awards to honor accomplished scientists for the years 2021 and 2022.

In the realm of the “Samanta Chandra Sekahar Award” for 2021, recipients include Prof. Hrudayanath Thatoi (Life Science), Dr. Bikash Kumar Jena (Physical Science), Dr. Ashok Kumar Sahu (Engineering & Technology), and Dr. Narayan Prasad Padhy (Engineering & Technology). For 2022, the awardees are Prof. Ramesh Chandra Patra (Life Science), Dr. Bhagyadhara Bhoi (Engineering & Technology), and Prof. Debi Prasanna Kanungo (CSIR, Roorkee). These accomplished individuals will be presented with a Rs. 1 lakh cash prize, along with a citation and memento.

The Odisha Young Scientists Award for 2021 will be conferred upon Dr. Basudeba Kar, Dr. Swagatika Dash, and Dr. Bishnu Prasad Biswal. For the year 2022, the deserving recipients are Dr. Soumya Ranjan Jena, Dr. Uttam Kumar Panigrahi, Dr. Soumya Prakash Dash, and Dr. Rekha Biswal.

The Pranakrushna Parija Popular Science Book Award is set to be awarded to Arun Kumar Patra and Dr. Asit Kumar Swain for 2021, and Kartik Swain and Dr. Subhendu Patnaik for 2022. These talented authors and scientists will receive a cash award of Rs. 25,000, in addition to a citation and memento.

Recognizing senior scientists for their remarkable contributions, the awards for the year 2021 will be presented to Dr. Subasini Lenka, Dr. Nikhilananda Panigrahi, Prof. Ganapati Panda, Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Das, and Dr. Ramachandra Mohanty. Similarly, for the year 2022, the awardees are Dr. Suboda Kumar Sahu, Dr. Bijay Ketan Patnaik, Prof. Siba Prasad Adhikary, Prof. Satyaban Jena, and Dr. Monaranjan Kar. The awards and felicitation ceremony are scheduled to take place in the near future.
