5T Chairman VK Pandian Participates In Launching Of Nua-O Scholarships Program In Balasore District

Bhubaneswar: Following the directives of Chief Minister Sh. Naveen Patnaik, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha Sh. V K Pandian paid a visit to Balasore district today. He participated in the Nua-O Scholarship Distribution Program in Balasore, where he engaged with students from the district.

During the event, Sh. Pandian announced that 30,926 eligible students from 71 colleges in Balasore district would receive their scholarship funds directly deposited into their bank accounts today, totaling Rs. 30.6 crore.

He personally handed out Nua-O Scholarship Sanction Orders to the students and conveyed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s best wishes for their future, emphasizing that this initiative aligns with the vision of Nua Odisha.

Sh. Pandian also revealed the government’s upcoming flagship program, the Nabin Odisha Magic Card, a futuristic smart card based on a points system. This card aims to engage and empower youth by facilitating academic, personality, skill development, and employment opportunities. The online registration portal for this card is set to launch on March 5th, 2024, and it will be available to all undergraduate and postgraduate students without any income criteria. Distribution of the card will commence on August 15th.

He personally handed out Nua-O Scholarship Sanction Orders to the students and conveyed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's best wishes for their future, emphasizing that this initiative aligns with the vision of Nua Odisha.

During the program, Sh. Pandian interacted with the students, who expressed excitement upon receiving their sanction orders. Shortly after the program’s launch, they received SMS notifications from their banks confirming the deposit of scholarship funds.

The students expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Sh. Pandian for the initiative and its swift execution following the program’s announcement.

Subsequently, Sh. Pandian visited the Memorial for Manmath Das and Manoj Das in Bhograi, acknowledging the significant contributions of these individuals to academic and literary development in Odisha. He extended thanks to the family members for donating the land for the memorial.
