Water release into left side canal of Baitanai barrage successful in the presence of the CCE

Keonjhar:The recent test release of water on an experimental basis into the left-side canal of the Anandpur Baitarani barrage by opening five gates was successful.  Abinash Raul, the chief construction engineer of the barrage project, was present on the occasion and said that the proper release of water from all five gates has been completely successful.

The released water successfully reached Bidyadharpur within the stipulated time spreading a wave of happiness among the farmers of Hatdihi block. 

Under the direct supervision Raul, all the engineers and senior officers of the barrage and canal thoroughly monitored the level of water on the canal up to Bidyadharpur. Superintending engineer Snehasis Behera said that ‘the test release of water has garnered success due to the intensive work undertaken by the irrigation department’. On this occasion all the engineer and officers of the irrigation and the executing contracting agency were present. While intellectuals of the area have welcomed the historic step of the state government, former minister and Ghasipura MLA Badri Narayan Patra and Anandpur MLA Bhagirathi Sethi have expressed satisfaction over the successful release of water which would be a boon for the farmers.
