Cuttack: In the latest development of Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2, the defending champions, Odisha Juggernauts, bounced back to the winning track with a 31-28 triumph over Mumbai Khiladis on Wednesday. With this victory, Odisha Juggernauts have ascended to the top of the points table, amassing eight points from three matches. Following closely, Telugu Yoddhas have claimed the second position, accumulating a total of six points.
Meanwhile, Telugu Yoddhas secured a commanding 38-28 victory against Rajasthan Warriors at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.
Ultimate Kho Kho, promoted by Amit Burman in collaboration with the Kho Kho Federation of India, gained immense popularity in its inaugural season. It emerged as India’s third-largest non-cricket league in terms of television viewership and made history by becoming the first Indian sports league to secure Series A funding from the UK-based BNP Group.
In the intense match between Odisha Juggernauts and Mumbai Khiladis, the latter made a balanced start, denying the defending champions early dream run bonus points. However, Odisha made a strong comeback, securing 14 points in the following turn. Despite Mumbai gaining a point advantage in the second inning with a dream run bonus point, Odisha dominated the last turn with 16 points, sealing a remarkable victory.
Telugu Yoddhas’ standout performer, Rahul Mandal, scored 10 points, leading his team to a triumphant 38-28 win over Rajasthan Warriors. Pratik Waikar and Aditya Ganpule contributed significantly by staying on the mat for over 3.95 minutes, earning dream run bonus points during the defense.
In the first turn, Rajasthan Warriors took an early dream run bonus point, but Telugu Yoddhas displayed resilience, claiming 18 points during the chase. Switching to defense, Yoddhas earned two dream run bonus points, limiting Rajasthan to just 12 points. Telugu Yoddhas extended their lead in the second inning, scoring 18 points in the third turn. Despite Rajasthan earning a dream run bonus point, they couldn’t surpass Telugu’s score in the last turn, managing only 14 points.
Looking ahead, Rajasthan Warriors will face Chennai Quick Guns on Friday, while Telugu Yoddhas are set to clash with table-toppers Gujarat Giants. The thrilling Season 2 action will be broadcasted on Sony Sports Network’s channels and SonyLIV, featuring live coverage of two matches daily starting at 7:30 PM IST.
