Sensex Closes At Record High, Ticked 72410
Munbai:In the concluding trading week of 2023, the Indian stock market exhibited remarkable growth for the third consecutive day. On Thursday, the BSE Sensex surged by 372 points, concluding at 72,410, while the National Stock Exchange Nifty experienced a gain of 124 points, reaching a closing figure of 21,778. This upward trend is attributed to robust buying activities, particularly in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and energy stocks, setting a new record high for both indices.
As a result of this impressive surge, the market capitalization has witnessed a substantial increase. The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies soared to Rs 363 lakh crore, surpassing the previous session’s figure of Rs 361.30 lakh crore. In practical terms, investors’ assets expanded by Rs. 1.70 lakh crore in today’s transactions. Notably, Nifty FMCG emerged as the top gainer, experiencing a notable rise of 754 points. Furthermore, sectors such as banking, auto, pharma, and energy also witnessed an uptick in stock values.
With tomorrow (December29, Friday) being the final trading day of 2023, the market is anticipated to remain buoyant in the closing day of the year.
