Prof. Arlo Griffiths,eminent mahabharat researcher visits SOA
Bhubaneswar: Professor Arlo Griffiths, an esteemed researcher in Southeast Asian history, visited the SOA Centre for Preservation, Propagation, and Restoration of Ancient Culture and Heritage of India (PPRACHIN) on Wednesday to familiarize himself with the center’s work.
During his visit, Professor Griffiths expressed keen interest in the publication of the critical edition of the original Sarola Mahabharatha by PPRACHIN. Currently based in Indonesia, Professor Griffiths serves as a professor at the French School of Asian Studies and has been conducting research on the Mahabharat for the past 20 years. He is a frequent visitor to Odisha and is fluent in Odia. His visit to the city coincided with his attendance at the 1st World Odia Language Conference.
Additionally, Professor Griffiths met with SOA Founder President Professor (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak for an exchange of views. SOA Vice-Chancellor Professor Pradipta Kumar Nanda, along with Professor Gouranga Charan Das, Professor Pradipta Kumar Panda, and Professor Santosh Rath, who are members of PPRACHIN’s editorial board for the Sarola Mahabharatha, were also present during the meeting.
