New Delhi: Leaders across political spectrum paid heartfelt tributes to the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister and key figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on the occasion of his 99th birth anniversary. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar commenced the day by visiting the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in New Delhi, where they offered floral tributes to the founding member of the BJP.

In a social media post on platform X, Prime Minister Modi conveyed, “I extend my deepest respects to the esteemed Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his birth anniversary on behalf of the entire nation. His lifelong commitment to advancing the cause of nation-building serves as a perpetual source of inspiration. Even in his immortal legacy, his dedication and service to Mother India endure.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reflected on Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister, emphasizing how he demonstrated the benefits of stable governance. Yogi stated that Vajpayee was a political stalwart, known as the ‘Ajat Shatru’ of politics, showcasing exceptional abilities to navigate both favorable and challenging circumstances. Yogi Adityanath also pointed out the remarkable coincidence that 2024 marks the centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth, with plans for various programs throughout the year leading up to a grand celebration on December 25, 2024. Additionally, the Chief Minister took the opportunity to honor several notable personalities on this significant occasion.
