PM Modi Lays Foundation, Dedicates To Nation, Multiple Development Projects Worth Over Rs 19,600 Cr In Odisha
Chandikhol: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today laid the foundation stone and dedicated multiple transformative development projects to the nation collectively valued at over Rs 19,600 crores in Chandikhole, Odisha. These pioneering initiatives span various crucial sectors, encompassing oil & gas, railways, road infrastructure, transport & highways, and atomic energy.
In a significant stride towards bolstering India’s self-reliance, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Mono Ethylene Glycol project of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited at the Paradip Refinery. This initiative is poised to substantially diminish India’s reliance on imports. Additionally, he inaugurated a 344 km long product pipeline stretching from Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal, fortifying the import infrastructure along the Eastern Coast. Furthermore, he inaugurated a 0.6 MMTPA LPG Import facility at Paradip, further augmenting the nation’s energy security.
Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to enhancing connectivity and mobility, the Prime Minister dedicated to the nation several critical road infrastructure projects. These include the four-laning of the Singhara to Binjabahal Section, Binjabahal to Tileibani Section, Balasore-Jharpokharia Section of NH-18, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar Section of NH-16. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the eight-laning of the Chandikhole – Paradip Section, a monumental endeavor set to revolutionize transportation in the region.
In a significant boost to the railway sector, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 162 Km Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura Rail Line. This crucial infrastructure not only amplifies the capacity of existing traffic facilities but also facilitates the seamless transportation of Iron and Manganese ore, thereby catalyzing regional economic growth.
Further enhancing railway capabilities, the inauguration of the CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar aims to invigorate both domestic and international trade. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for the Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Narla, the Wagon Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Kantabanji, and the augmentation of maintenance facilities at Baghuapal, further strengthening the railway ecosystem.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated a 5 MLD capacity seawater desalination plant at the Odisha Sands Complex of IREL(I) Ltd., showcasing India’s prowess in indigenous desalination technologies developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. This initiative is a testament to India’s commitment to sustainable development and water resource management.
