Odisha CM Inaugurates Odia University Campus

Satyabadi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the newly established campus of Odia University in Satyabadi, Puri district, on Wednesday. The campus features essential facilities, including an administrative building, classrooms, two hostel buildings, and a dining facility. Currently, 180 students have enrolled in the university, and the inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of the Vice Chancellor, lecturers, and students.

During the event, Chief Minister Patnaik expressed his joy at unveiling the Odia University at Satyabadi, emphasizing its significance as the karmabhoomi (workplace) of Utkalmani Gopabandhu. He extended his congratulations to the university students.

Spread across 9 acres of land, the Odia University Building is equipped with comprehensive amenities for students, teachers, academicians, and researchers, including hostels, classrooms, offices, and other essential infrastructure. The construction of the building incurred an expenditure of approximately Rs. 30 crore. Notably, the Administrative Building features architecture inspired by the Odia alphabet.

It is to be recalled that the foundation of Odia University was laid by the state government in Bakuluban four years ago, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopbandhu Das.
