Odisha Achieved Its Second-Highest State GST Collection In Dec 23, Garners Rs 2578.05 Cr
Bhubaneswar: In December 2023, Odisha achieved its second-highest State GST (OGST + IGST Settlement) collection, reaching Rs. 2578.05 Cr, marking a substantial 70.07% growth compared to the corresponding Rs. 1515.88 Cr recorded in December 2022.
The cumulative State GST collection (OGST + IGST Settlement) until December 2023 amounted to Rs. 17419.61 Cr, displaying a notable 31.61% growth from the Rs. 13235.52 Cr collected by December 2022.
Under the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha, encompassing OGST, IGST Settlement, VAT, Entry Tax, and Profession Tax, the total collection for December 2023 stood at Rs. 3665.23 Cr, showcasing a robust growth rate of 45.98% from the Rs. 2510.86 Cr collected in December 2022. The cumulative collection under all Acts until December 2023 reached Rs. 26089.84 Cr, demonstrating a growth rate of 21.68% over the corresponding period until December 2022.
In terms of Gross GST collection (CGST + IGST + SGST + Cess), Odisha achieved a collection of Rs. 4351.42 Cr in December 2023, representing a growth rate of 12.90% compared to the Rs. 3854.29 Cr collected in December 2022. The overall Gross GST collection for the fiscal year 2023-24 until December 2023 reached Rs. 39539.67 Cr, exhibiting a growth of 10.08% over the same period in the fiscal year 2022-23.
Highlighting economic vibrancy, December 2023 saw the generation of 22.49 Lakh waybills, a 14.39% increase from the 19.66 Lakh waybills generated in December 2022. Among these, 13.41 Lakh were intra-state waybills, and 9.07 Lakh were inter-state waybills. This surge in waybill generation reflects a positive trend in the economic sector.
