National Transition Council Of Guinea President Dansa Kourouma Receives KISS Humanitarian Award
Bhubaneswar: The prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award for 2019 was bestowed upon Dr. Dansa Kourouma, President of the National Transition Council of Guinea, during a ceremony held on Thursday. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KIIT & KISS, presented the accolade to Dr. Kourouma in the presence of Saswati Bal, President of KIIT & KISS; Umapada Bose, Vice President; and R. N. Dash, Secretary of KIIT & KISS.
During his acceptance speech, Dr. Kourouma lauded Bhubaneswar as a city characterized by happiness, spirituality, and devotion, emphasizing the longstanding historical connections between India and Guinea. He expressed admiration for the achievements of KIIT and KISS, applauding the determination, compassion, and dedication of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the Founder of KIIT and KISS. Dr. Kourouma graciously accepted the award, joining the ranks of esteemed personalities such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, stating, “I am grateful for this recognition and deeply honored by this distinction.” He remarked that the award symbolizes their commitment to enhancing societal well-being.
Acknowledging Dr. Samanta as a paternal figure, Dr. Kourouma described him as a beacon of hope for the hopeless and a stalwart of truth and faith. He emphasized the transformative power of education as the most potent tool for societal change, rooted in unwavering conviction and faith.
In his remarks, Dr. Samanta portrayed KISS as a bastion of humanism, nurturing care and compassion among its students. The event was graced by dignitaries including Chargee d’affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea Dr. Aminata Thuam, Chief of Staff of the Guinean Parliament Fofana Moussa, Director of the Cultural Forum of the Embassy of Austria Michael Pal, and Sanjeev Juneja, Founder of Divisa Herbal Care. Buddhist monks from Thailand were also present on this auspicious occasion.
Among others the event was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Amareswar Galla, Pro-Chancellor of KISS DU; Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of KIIT DU; and Prof. Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor of KISS DU.
