Kartik Pandian Visits Ganjam District
- Attends the public grievance meetings in Bellagunta, Dharakote, KukudaKhandi and Patrapur
Bhubaneswar: Following the directive of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chairman of the 5T initiative, along with Nabin Odisha Shri Kartik Pandian, conducted a visit to Ganjam District today. The purpose was to review the progress of several key projects, including the Pipalapanka Dam Project in Sorada Block, Janivilly Barrage Project in Dharakote Block, and Cheligada Irrigation Project in Digapahandi Block. These projects, with a combined investment of Rs. 1300 Crores, aim to facilitate irrigation across a total area of 1,84,000 Acres.
During the visit, Shri Kartik Pandian actively participated in public grievance meetings held in Bellaguntha, Dharakote, Kukudakhandi, and Patrapur. He communicated significant decisions made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, such as a Rs. 500 increment in social security pensions for approximately 58 lakh beneficiaries across all categories.
Furthermore, Shri Kartik Pandian highlighted the increased pensions under the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana and Mukhyamantri Bunakar o Karigara Sahayata Yojana, raised from Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 2,000. He also mentioned the enhancement of financial assistance under the MAMATA Yojana from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10,000, aimed at improving nutrition and health outcomes for women and infants.
In education, Shri Pandian discussed the introduction of the Nua-O Scholarships by the Hon’ble Chief Minister for undergraduate and postgraduate students in state universities, government, and non-government aided colleges. Under this initiative, male students will receive Rs. 9,000, while female students will receive Rs. 10,000 annually. Additionally, SC/ST and Nirman Shramik families’ eligible students will receive Rs. 10,000 (male) and Rs. 11,000 (female) per annum. The scholarships for the current academic year will be disbursed into eligible students’ bank accounts starting from Feb 26th.
Shri Pandian also highlighted the launch of the SWAYAM scheme by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship among youth aged 18-35 years. Additionally, he mentioned the implementation of the LaCCMI Scheme, ensuring bus services in every Gram Panchayat of Ganjam district, with a nominal fare of Rs. 5 for female passengers and students.
During interactions with the public, Shri Pandian addressed various grievances and assured timely resolutions. His visit was met with a warm welcome from the local community and leaders across the district.
