KALYANI STEEL SIGNS MOU WITH ODISHA GOVT 

Bhubaneswar: Kalyani Steel has signed an MoU with Govt. of Odisha today in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik to establish a Titanium Metal & Aerospace Components Manufacturing, and Integrated Advanced Specialty Steel and Automotive Components Manufacturing Complex in Odisha.

This strategic collaboration aims to develop a comprehensive manufacturing complex at Gajamara, Dhenkanal, marking KSL’s expansion into the state amidst significant interest from various quarters.

With an investment of Rs. 11,750 Crores, it is expected to create over 10,000 jobs, thereby substantially enhancing employment opportunities in Odisha.

During the event, the Chief Minister expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its alignment with the State’s vision of capitalizing on opportunities in emerging sectors to create high-skill employment.

He stated, “Welcoming Kalyani Steel’s initiative, which encompasses a Titanium Metal and Alloy Mill, an Aerospace Components Facility, and an Integrated Automotive Component Unit, Odisha steps into a highly advanced and precision manufacturing arena. With an investment of Rs. 11,751 Crores, this venture is poised to transform our industrial landscape, offering over 10,000 job opportunities in specialized trades. This endeavor perfectly resonates with our goal of fostering an environment conducive to modern industries.”

Moreover, he noted, “This project will catalyze the growth of MSMEs, fostering the development of a dynamic ecosystem of ancillary industries and OEM suppliers, thereby creating numerous additional employment opportunities. Hence, it perfectly aligns with our vision of nurturing an ecosystem supportive of cutting-edge industries.”

Highlighting the importance of skill development, the CM remarked, “Kalyani Steel’s dedication to skill enhancement will undoubtedly yield widespread benefits, enhancing the capabilities of the local workforce in advanced manufacturing sectors such as downstream metal processing, automotive, and defense manufacturing.”

Amit Kalyani, Director of Kalyani Steels Limited, emphasized the significance of the project as a milestone in their longstanding relationship with Odisha, pledging mutual growth and prosperity. He stated, “By commencing operations in Odisha’s dynamic environment, we aim to forge a mutually beneficial partnership, fostering both development and innovation, while creating ample opportunities for highly skilled employment. This underscores our firm belief in Odisha’s potential and our commitment to positively influence its economic framework.”

This collaboration between Kalyani Steel and the Government of Odisha signifies a significant milestone, positioning the state as a prime destination for innovative and sustainable industrial ventures.

Minister of Industries Shri Pratap Keshari Dev, Chairman 5T and AONO Shri Kartik Pandian, along with other senior officials, were present at the event.
