Jio consolidates No. 1 position in Odisha, adds over 1.4 lakh new subscribers

Bhubaneswar: In its ongoing dominance as the leading digital service provider in the region, Reliance Jio added the highest number of new mobile subscribers in Odisha during December 2023, according to the latest telecom subscriber data from TRAI. Jio welcomed over 1.4 lakh fresh mobile subscribers during this period, surpassing its closest rival, Airtel, which only managed to add 2522 subscribers. Meanwhile, both VI and BSNL experienced declines in their subscriber bases.

The total count of mobile subscribers on the Jio network in Odisha stood at over 1.48 crores by December 31, 2023. Overall, Odisha’s telecom subscriber base saw an increase of over 1.15 lakhs in December, reaching a total of 3.32 crores. Jio continued to strengthen its position in the Odisha telecom market by consistently attracting new subscribers, with over 9 lakh additions throughout 2023.

On a national scale, Jio sustained its momentum by acquiring over 39.94 lakh subscribers in October alone, pushing its total mobile subscriber base to over 45.98 crores, solidifying its status as the premier digital service provider in the country.

It’s noteworthy that Reliance Jio commands the highest subscriber market share at 44.6% and the highest revenue market share at 52% in Odisha’s digital service industry.
