Interstate ATM looter gang busted in Odisha’s  Balasore

Balasore: Police in Balasore have busted an interstate ATM looter gang involved in looting ATMs and have apprehended five individuals associated with the criminal group. The police successfully confiscated a sum of Rs. 6,13,700 from the possession of the arrested individuals, who originally hail from Haryana. The arrests were made in Bhubaneswar as the culprits attempted to escape.

The law enforcement team also discovered stolen cash and various incriminating items, including a pistol, during the arrests. Reports indicate that on January 11, the accused targeted and looted two ATMs in the Khaira and Soro areas. Upon receiving information about the incidents, the police pursued the looters’ vehicle, but the criminals managed to evade capture.

Subsequently, on the following day, the abandoned vehicle was located on a wooden bridge in a rural area under the Khunta police station. Further investigation revealed that the car had been stolen from the Delhi region. Analysis by the scientific team, dog squad, and cyber cell indicated that both ATM thefts occurred on the same day.

During the interrogation, the arrested individuals admitted to their involvement in multiple ATM cutting and theft cases. Notably, one member of the gang remains at large and is currently being pursued by law enforcement.
