IIT Bhubaneswar placements gather pace

Bhubaneswar: The ongoing campus recruitment process at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar is witnessing a notable surge in placements, defying the prevailing gloom in the job markets and the global economic recession. In the initial 10 days, the institute received approximately 200 offers, showcasing promising trends in the placement scenario.

Commencing on December 1st, the placement process at IIT Bhubaneswar initially progressed at a slow pace but has now gained momentum. A diverse array of companies particularly from Software, IT, Consulting, and Analytics have actively been participating in hiring from the campus during this period.

Remaining committed to providing students with varied professional opportunities; IIT Bhubaneswar has invited companies from different sectors to participate in the recruitment drive. This year, prominent organizations such as BPCL, HPCL, Reliance Industries Limited, Oracle Corporation, Microsoft, Google, Accenture Japan, Salesforce, Jaguar Land Rover, Zomato, Analog Devices, Tata Capital, Tata Steel, Mathworks, Tiger Analytics, GE Healthcare, and Jindal Stainless Limited are actively engaged in the placement process, offering students a wide range of opportunities. The highest offer received so far stands at Rs. 64 lakh per annum. In addition to domestic offers, the institute has secured four international offers, with the Computer Science Department receiving the maximum number of offers.

Highlighting the positive trends, Prof. Arun Kumar Pradhan, HOD-Career Development Cell of IIT Bhubaneswar, expressed satisfaction, stating, “Despite the economic slowdown and recession impacting placements nationwide, IIT Bhubaneswar’s placement scenario is encouraging and gaining momentum. Our students are securing offers across diverse sectors, and it’s gratifying to see core industries and PSUs also actively recruiting from our institute.”

It’s worth noting that the placement season at IIT Bhubaneswar will extend until July 2024, aiming to include the maximum number of students and provide extensive job opportunities.
