IIT Bhubaneswar hosts ‘Alma Fiesta’ with great fervor 

Bhubaneswar:  The 15th edition of Alma Fiesta, the annual Social and Cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, took place from March 15th to 17th, 2024. This year, the Social theme centered around “Dying Art Form” while the Cultural theme embraced “Enigmatic Paracosm: Unraveling Mystery One Step at a Time.” The distinguished artist from Odisha, Mr. Raghunath Sahoo, graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the three-day extravaganza.

In his address, Mr. Raghunath Sahoo emphasized the importance of embracing and embodying our cultural heritage. He underscored the significance of India’s rich culture and traditions, urging students to uphold and preserve them beyond mere festival organizing.

Prof. Rajesh Roshan Dash provided insights into the history of Alma Fiesta and extended his best wishes for the success of this year’s event. Dr. Santhoshkumar G, Chairperson of Alma Fiesta, delivered the welcome speech, setting the tone for the festivities. Mr. Tejas Singh Rajput, Chief Coordinator of Alma Fiesta, expressed gratitude in his vote of thanks.

The event saw the presence of notable figures including Dr. Srinivas Bhaskar Karanki, President-Student Gymkhana, and Dr. Kodanda Ram Mangipudi, Faculty Advisor (Socio Cultural), Student Gymkhana.

During the inaugural ceremony, the Social and Cultural Themes of the year were officially launched, setting the stage for the diverse array of events lined up over the three days. These included captivating cultural performances, enthralling dramas, mesmerizing dances, soulful music, vibrant paintings, and engaging quiz competitions.
