Dalmia Cement Honours 30 Students With ‘Prativa Samman Award’ In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, India’s foremost cement manufacturing company, celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of local school students by presenting the esteemed “Prativa Samman Award-2023” during a special ceremony held on January 26, 2024, at its Kapilas Cement Works (KCW) Unit. A total of 30 students from Class 10th and 12th were honored for their academic excellence and exceptional sporting abilities. These accomplished individuals were selected from 14 schools located in the neighboring panchayats of Cuttack and Jajpur Districts in Odisha.
In acknowledgment of their hard work and dedication, 14 outstanding students in academics received a cash award of Rs. 5000 each, while 16 exceptional athletes were presented with Rs. 3500 each. Mr. Bhavesh Wala, Deputy Executive Director and Unit Head-KCW, Cuttack, graced the event as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Sarpanch Paria, Garudagaon and Chhatia, and a PS Member of Garudagaon GP, alongside teachers, guardians, and other dignitaries.
Mr. Bhavesh Wala, Deputy Executive Director and Unit Head, KCW, congratulated the students and expressed his thoughts on the initiative, stating, “Dalmia Bharat is dedicated to fostering excellence and inspiring the next generation. The ‘Prativa Samman Award’ reflects our commitment to identifying, acknowledging, and rewarding the bright young minds who exhibit exceptional hard work, perseverance, and dedication. These students are the future of our nation, and we hope this award acts as a catalyst, motivating them to achieve even greater heights.”
Established in 2009 by the former company OCL India Ltd in Kapilas, the ‘Prativa Samman Award’ underscores the company’s commitment to the holistic development of students, recognizing not only academic achievements but also diverse talents within the communities it serves. Over the years, the award ceremony has seen distinguished attendees, including notable figures like Omkarnath Mohanty, the Vice Chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), in 2018.
