Chairman 5T V K Pandian Visits Sundargarh District

Bhubaneswar: As per the directive of Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha, Sh V K Pandian undertook a visit to Sundargarh District to assess the advancement of variuos developmental endeavors in the region and interact with students.

He actively participated in the Nua-O Program held at Sports Hostel Complex, Bhawanipur, engaging with students from all colleges in Sundargarh. During this interaction, Sh Pandian deliberated on the Nua-O initiative, which offers a platform for young individuals to exhibit their talents and fosters holistic personality development alongside academic pursuits. He underscored the importance of diligent effort and self-assurance in attaining success in life, mentioning that the college transformation projects in the district are scheduled for completion by February.

Encouraging students to aspire for greatness, Sh Pandian highlighted the achievements of notable personalities from Sundargarh district, such as Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India; Sh Shishir Kumar Naik, IAS; Major General Sh Ramesh Chandra Padhi; and Subhadra Pradhan, former Captain of the Hockey National Women’s Team, all of whom hailed from government educational institutions and achieved significant success.

Sh Pandian also assessed the progress of the Integrated Social Service (ISS) projects at Bhasma on the Ib River, amounting to Rs 262.5 Crs, and at Fulbari on the Sapei River, costing 123.75 Crs, sanctioned in response to public petitions received during his previous visit in March of the preceding year.

Furthermore, he reviewed the advancement of Mega Lift Irrigation Projects totaling Rs 232 Crores at Semina, Riughat, Khairidihi, and Satara. Additionally, he evaluated the development progress of significant temples like the Vedvyas temple in Rourkela, the Shiv Temple in Ghoghar, and the Shiv Temple in Belsara.

Sh Pandian also inspected the ongoing Railway Over Bridge project at Rajgangpur, amounting to 48.11 Crs, which had been pending for a decade. This project’s acceleration was prompted by the local community’s appeal during his prior visit.

Moreover, he scrutinized the progress of various Mega Public Works Schemes and other developmental initiatives in the district, instructing officials to ensure timely completion. Several key projects were initiated following Sh Pandian’s previous visit to Sundargarh District in March 2023, during which he engaged in grievance meetings and gathered public feedback.
