ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India(AM/NS India) Organises Multi-Speciality Health Camps In Mahakalapada Block
Kendrapara: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), collaboration between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, renowned steel manufacturers globally, launched its Corporate Social Responsibility endeavor, “Project Aarogya.” This initiative aimed to extend quality healthcare to communities surrounding its operational areas. The inaugural phase commenced with multi-specialty health camps across eleven villages in the Mahakalapada block of Kendrapara.
The maiden health camp took place in Kharinasi village, where a proficient medical team, comprising specialists like Gynaecologists, Dermatologists, Ophthalmologists, Paediatricians, and Medicine specialists, delivered free medical examinations and consultations to the locals. Additionally, prescribed medicines were distributed without charge.
The camp’s inauguration witnessed the presence of Dr. Niranjan Sarangi, the Medical Officer In-charge at CHC-Mahakalapada; Smt. Banita Rout, the Sarpanch of Kharinasi; Shri Sanjiv Singh, Head of Finance, Odisha Operations – AM/NS India; Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head of CSR – AM/NS India, along with other company officials and villagers.
Dr. Vikas Yadvendu emphasized, “We advocate for universal access to quality healthcare. By directly reaching out to our community with essential healthcare services,
we aim to create a significant impact on their well-being. Our CSR initiatives are structured to foster holistic community development, and this endeavor underscores our commitment to enhancing the health standards in the Kendrapara region.”
Following the successful camp in Kharinasi, AM/NS India extended similar multi-specialty health camps to ten additional villages under Batighar and Ramnagar panchayats. These camps collectively served 1629 individuals from the community. Emphasizing preventive healthcare, early detection, and education, the camps provided a comprehensive array of services, including medical examinations, screenings, medications, and health counseling. Managed by HelpAge India, the camps featured a dedicated team of experienced healthcare professionals and volunteers committed to delivering compassionate and expert care to all participants.
