ACME group to set up Rs 60,000 Cr green ammonia plant at Gopalpur

Bhubaneswar: In a significant boost to the Make In Odisha initiative, the ACME Group, in collaboration with IHI Corporation, is set to establish a green ammonia plant in Gopalpur, with a substantial investment of Rs 60,000 Crores. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed gratitude to the company’s senior executives for their contribution to the development of Odisha and extended his best wishes to the endeavor.

For this ambitious project, ACME Group has partnered with Japan’s IHI Corporation. Executives from both ACME Group and IHI Corporation recently briefed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the progress of the project. The production of green ammonia will utilize green hydrogen, and the manufacturing facilities will be powered by renewable energy sources. The project is slated to be established within the Gopalpur Industrial Park at Tata Steel Special Economic Zone in Ganjam District, Odisha.

Notably, in August 2023, ACME Group had finalized a land agreement with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) for 343 acres within the Gopalpur Industrial Park, laying the foundation for its Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia project in Odisha.
