Odisha: BJD Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty Joins BJP
Bhubaneswar: Renowned actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty has officially joined the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking a significant shift from his previous allegiance with the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha. This move comes on the heels of his departure from the BJD just days ago, making the political landscape of the state more exciting.
In a ceremonious gathering held in New Delhi, the Kendrapara Member of Parliament (MP) embraced his new political affiliation, finding a warm reception from senior BJP leader Vinod Tawde. Mohanty’s decision to align himself with the saffron party underscores a notable transition in his political trajectory.
The transition wasn’t devoid of personal and professional challenges, as Mohanty found himself embroiled in a legal dispute with his spouse, Varsha Priyadarshani. Moreover, murmurs of discontent within the BJD surfaced, with allegations of Mohanty being sidelined from significant party engagements in Kendrapara and beyond, indicating a growing discord within the erstwhile alliance.
Once hailed as the star campaigner for the BJD, Mohanty’s absence from recent party events and activities had not gone unnoticed. His once vibrant presence, touring various parts of the state to rally support for the party, had dwindled, signaling a shift in his political priorities.
With this move to the BJP, Anubhav Mohanty embarks on a new chapter in his political journey, poised to navigate the complexities of his newfound affiliation while leaving behind a legacy of his contributions to the BJD.
