Mahindra Auto records 6% growth in December 2023  sales

Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a prominent player in India’s automotive industry, reported a significant increase in overall auto sales for December 2023, reaching 60,188 vehicles, representing a growth of 6%, inclusive of exports.

In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra achieved domestic sales of 35,171 vehicles, marking a substantial 24% growth. The total figure, including exports, amounted to 36,349 vehicles. Commercial Vehicles recorded domestic sales of 17,888 units.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., commented on the performance, stating, “In December, our SUV sales reached 35,171 units, showcasing a robust growth of 24% compared to the previous year. Despite encountering supply challenges in specific components, we are actively collaborating with our suppliers to address and overcome these challenges in the future.”

Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a division of the Mahindra Group, disclosed its tractor sales figures for December 2023. Domestic sales during the month totaled 18,028 units, in contrast to 21,640 units in December 2022.

The aggregate tractor sales, encompassing both domestic and exports, amounted to 19,138 units for December 2023, compared to 23,243 units in the corresponding period the previous year. Exports for the month accounted for 1,110 units.
