63rd Council Meeting Of WODC Held
Bhubaneswar: The 63rd Council meeting of the Western Odisha Development Council(WODC )convened at Rajiv Bhawan under the chairmanship of Shri Asit Tripathy, where he welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for the increased budgetary allocation of Rs. 500 crore for 2024-25. Progress updates were provided, including the utilization of a special grant of Rs. 125 crore in the previous fiscal year for the completion of various projects, which was unanimously approved.
Council Member Secretary cum Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ajit Kumar Mishra presented the meeting agenda, which included the approval of Rs. 128.22 crore for 1767 people-centric development projects recommended by honorable MPs, MLAs, and others between August 22, 2023, and February 7, 2024. The council acknowledged the successful coordination and management of projects such as the MukhyaMantri Sabha Ghar and auditoriums.
Chairman Shri Tripathy emphasized joint efforts from representatives, advisors, expert members, and officers for the successful implementation of projects, and highlighted measures for overall transformation and public utilization of WODC-funded projects. He encouraged members to work collectively towards WODC’s objectives.
The meeting also featured discussions on district plans and future requirements, with a demonstration of GIS mapping technology for projects like Open Mandaps, Community Centers, and Kalyan Mandaps, which received appreciation. Advisor Mr. Narayan Sahu and all expert members were present. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ajit Kumar Mishra.
