13,500 youth get job offers at KIIT Supported Mega Job Fair- 2024 In Kandhamal
Phulbani: The Mega Job Fair-2024 organized at Phulbani for the youth of the Kandhamal parliamentary constituency achieved success under the leadership of MP Kandhamal, Dr. Achyuta Samanta. This marks the second time that Dr. Samanta, with the support of KIIT and in collaboration with the district administration, organized the Job Fair. Taking place at the Kandhamal stadium on January 21st, the event resulted in job offers for approximately 13,500 youths.
Out of this total, 3,500 individuals secured positions with companies based in Odisha, while the remaining 10,000 job aspirants were chosen by firms operating nationwide. Over 20,000 youths from the Kandhamal parliamentary constituency actively participated in the fair, including participants from 12 blocks of Kandhamal, three from Boudh and Nayagarh, and two from Ganjam district.
A remarkable 120 companies from across Odisha and India participated, providing employment opportunities for the youth. This included 40 companies from Odisha and more than 80 firms and industrial houses from other states. Salaries offered ranged from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 35,000. The candidates encompassed a wide educational spectrum, from standard fifth to post-graduation, including B. Tech, MBA, and Law graduates.
Organizing such a significant event in one of Odisha’s smallest cities required considerable effort. This involved bringing together 120 companies, managing logistics and hospitality, and facilitating transport and food arrangements for the influx of 20,000 youths. These challenges were successfully met through the unwavering support of the Kandhamal district administration and the dedicated efforts of KIIT, aligning with the vision of Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, to empower the state’s youth through education and employment, as expressed by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, MP, Kandhamal.
Dr. Samanta extended gratitude to the district administration, the representatives of the 120 participating companies, and especially Mr. Lalit Gandhi, President of Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture, for their invaluable contributions. The event witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including MLA Baliguda and District Planning Board Chairman Chakramani Kanhar, MLA Phulbani Angad Kanhar, Rodan Mallick, Chairman of the Special Development Council, Kandhamal, Nandini Mallick, Zilla Parisad President, Kandhamal, Collector Asish Iswar Patil, SP Suvendu Patra, and Purusottama Mahapatra, Dist. Skill Development-cum-Employment Officer.
