Tata Steel Units In Odisha Pay Tribute To J N Tata On His 185th Birth Anniversary
- The theme of this year’s Founder’s Day is “Technology for People & Planet.”
Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel paid tribute to its esteemed founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, revered as the legendary ‘Father of Indian Industry’, on the occasion of his 185th birth anniversary, celebrated as Founder’s Day. This flagship event, observed annually on March 3rd, honors the founder’s visionary outlook, emphasizing industrial progress intertwined with community welfare. This year’s theme, “Technology for People & Planet,” underscores Tata Steel’s commitment to leveraging technology for societal and environmental betterment.
Across its operations in Odisha, Tata Steel marked the day with enthusiasm and vigor. Homage ceremonies were held at various locations, including the offices of the Chief Resident Executive, Tata Steel, Tata Steel Technical Service Limited group companies, and the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High-Performance Centre (ONTHHPC) at Kalinga Stadium. Similar celebrations took place at Tata Steel offices and facilities in Kalinganagar, Meramandali, and Raw Materials locations.
Tata Steel Kalinganagar, situated in Jajpur district, orchestrated a series of events such as a 5 km run, inter-colony football tournaments, and a march past, accompanied by homage paid by senior leadership. Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited employees also honored the founder in a similar manner.
In Dhenkanal, Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) organized friendly cricket, volleyball, and basketball matches, along with a volleyball tournament near the plant at Mangalpur Grampanchayat, while paying homage to the founder.
At the Ore Mines and Quarries (OMU) Division’s Joda Unit, celebrations were led by the Chief of Tata Steel Joda, joined by leaders and employees from various units. Additionally, homage ceremonies were held at the Ferro Alloys Plant in Joda, Manganese Group of Mines, NINL mines, and other company units.
Homage to the visionary industrialist extended to Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) in Bhubaneswar, Sukinda, and other locations. Furthermore, Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited and Tata Steel Foundation organized a beach cleaning program at Goplapur, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of J N Tata.
