NTPC Crosses 400 Billion Units (BU) Of Power Generation, Surpasses Previous fiscal’s Production
New Delhi: On March 13, 2024, NTPC Ltd, India’s premier power generation company, achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the 400 Billion Units (BU) mark in power generation. In the fiscal year 2022-23, the company had produced 399.3 BU.
Up to March 13, 2023-24, NTPC’s Coal stations boasted a remarkable Plant Loading Factor (PLF) of 77.06%. Earlier in the same year, on September 1, 2023, the company achieved its highest single-day generation of 1428 MU. This outstanding performance underscores the expertise of NTPC engineers, as well as the effectiveness of their operation and maintenance practices.
This achievement further underscores NTPC’s unwavering commitment to providing reliable and affordable power to the nation. Despite having an installed capacity of 75.4 GW, with 18 GW under construction including 5 GW in renewables, NTPC aims to reach 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
Beyond power generation, NTPC has diversified into new business domains such as e-mobility, Waste-to-Energy, and Green Hydrogen solutions. The company has also participated in power distribution bidding for Union Territories.
