Naveen Patnaik Presents ‘Chief Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Healthcare

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday presented the “Chief Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Healthcare Services,” with a total of 153 awards bestowed across six categories during the initial phase of the ceremony. The event took place at the state convention center in Lok Seva Bhawan, attended by Health Minister Shri Niranjan Pujari and Health Secretary Smt Shalini Pandit.

Noteworthy is the state’s commitment to health sector reforms aimed at enhancing governance and ensuring effective healthcare delivery through the implementation of the 5T principles. Emphasizing the value of every life, various initiatives have been launched to prioritize patient-centric, quality healthcare services.

Aligned with the 5T framework, the Chief Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Healthcare Services commend individuals and institutions for their exceptional contributions to healthcare. In recognition of their efforts, 153 awards were conferred today, recognizing significant advancements in the state’s healthcare system.

These awards encompass various categories, including Quality Certification, Best Hospitals/Institutions, Best Ranking among Public Health Facilities, Individual Awards for Doctors and Paramedics, and a Special Award for Outstanding Contribution during the Bahanaga Train Tragedy.

The aim of these accolades is to inspire dedication among healthcare professionals, public and private hospitals, and institutions, thereby propelling Odisha towards becoming a model state and healthcare destination. This endeavor seeks to ensure universal access to quality healthcare, fostering a vision of a “Sustha Odisha, Sukhi Odisha.”

Among the notable recipients, SCB Medical & Hospital secured the top position among the Old Medical Colleges & Hospitals for 2022-23, while Bhima Bhoi MCH Bolangir earned the first award among New MCHs for the same period. Additionally, Ashwini Covid Hospital Cuttack received the accolade for Best Standalone Covid Hospital, and RMRC Bhubaneswar was honored with the Best Central Govt Institution Award for Exceptional Services during the Covid Pandemic.
