IIM Sambalpur hosts CEO Immersion Programme for Executive MBA Programme
Sambalpur: IIM Sambalpur, a leading management institution in India, recently hosted the CEO Immersion Programme for Executive MBA batches 2022-24 and 2023-25 at its Sambalpur campus. This initiative aims to provide participants with practical knowledge, insights into industry trends, and essential leadership skills through direct interaction with experienced professionals. A total of 77 working professionals actively participated in the program.
During the event, Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary at the Association of Indian Universities, Government of India, shared valuable insights into the evolving landscape of executive education. Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, emphasized the significance of the CEO Immersion Programme as an integral part of fostering a holistic learning environment for the executive MBA batch. He highlighted the essential qualities required for effective leadership, including a combination of risk-taking, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and social skills. Drawing inspiration from Lord Krishna, Prof. Jaiswal underscored the paramount importance of self-regulation.
Mr. Kailash Pandey, President and Cluster Head of Hindalco Industries Limited, served as the chief guest and outlined key elements for successful business operations, emphasizing the ‘4S’ approach, which includes strategy, structure, system, and skill. He emphasized that managing a business in the contemporary landscape involves not only handling equipment and customers but also effectively managing employees and teams.
Mr. Chetan Shrivastav, the Guest of Honour and Executive Director and Unit Head of Dalmia Cement Bharat Limited, emphasized the importance of teamwork in navigating the complexities of the modern workplace. He highlighted the need for learning agility and emotional maturity, stating that these qualities are imperative for excelling in a dynamic environment.
The event began with an Introductory Address by Prof. Shikha Bharadwaj, Chairperson of Exe-MBA at IIM Sambalpur. During the programme, a scholarship of one lakh was awarded to Mrs. Sharada Gupta of Delhi, the wife of Dr. Girish Mohan Gupta, an MBA for Working Professionals student at IIM Sambalpur Delhi Campus. This scholarship was granted to meritorious MBA female students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including Aarushi Shrivastava, Sapkal Gouri Ganesh, Himansi Soni, and Ujala Singh, in recognition of their academic excellence. It’s worth noting that the CEO Immersion Programme for MBA for Working Professionals was recently conducted at the Delhi Centre of IIM Sambalpur.
