Hi-Tech Hospital AC Tragedy: Dilip Samantray is Alive
Bhubaneswar: In a significant turn of events regarding the AC compressor explosion case at Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar, a patient undergoing treatment in the ICU has come forward, claiming to be Dilip Samantaray, previously declared dead in the incident.
In response to the confusion surrounding the identification of one of the deceased, Hi-Tech hospital authorities conducted a press conference, stating, “We are 95% sure that the individual currently receiving treatment is Dilip Samantaray. A DNA test will be conducted to eliminate any confusion.”
It is noteworthy that the hospital officially declared Dilip Samantray dead on December 30, following an AC compressor blast during gas filling on December 29. The victims, including the now-controversial individual, were employees of the AC repairing agency outsourced by the hospital.
After the blast, a severely burnt body was handed over to Dilip Samantray’s family on December 31, leading to the performance of his last rites. However, the situation took a bewildering turn when Jyoti Ranjan Mallik, one of the injured, woke up from the ventilator on Thursday, claiming to be Dilip Samantray, creating a state of significant confusion.
The tragic incident also saw the grief-stricken wife of Dilip Samantray succumb to suicide following the initial news of his alleged demise.
