Foundation Stone Laid For Ramdev Baba’s Patanjali Gurukulam At Haridwar
Haridwar: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone of Patanjali Gurukulam on the occasion of 29th foundation day of Patanajali Yogapeeth. The day also coincides with the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and gurkul founder Swami Dashananand
The project to come up with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore , is touted as the world’s largest Gurukul. Over the next five years, Patanjali intends to invest Rs 5000 crore to bring significant transformations in the Indian education system, marking the third revolution led by the Patanjali group. The group previously pioneered revolutions through yoga and Ayurveda, followed by the promotion of Swadwsh Kranti, meaning promoting indigenous goods and culture.
Haridwar is set to become the largest center of learning globally. Patanjali Gurukulam will have residential facilities for approximately 1500 students. Additionally, around 5 thousand children will benefit from day boarding at Acharyakulam, with students securing 98 percent marks receiving a 100 percent scholarship. Out of the allocated RS 500 crore , Rs 250 crores will fund the construction of Patanjali Gurukulam, and the remaining 250 crores will be dedicated to the development of the Swami Darshananand Gurukulam College. Plans include the construction of a modern guest house in the name of Maharshi Dayanand.
The curriculum at Patanjali Gurukulam will encompass Vedas, Philosophy, and Upanishads, to be taught in five languages.
