East Coast Railway GM Inspected Khurda Road-Daspalla Railway Section
Bhubaneswar: General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR), Shri Manoj Sharma, conducted an inspection of the Khurda Road-Daspalla Railway Section as part of the Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project on Wednesday. During the inspection, Shri Sharma assessed the progress of safety measures and passenger amenities, including the development of parking areas, circulating areas, and landscaping. Additionally, he reviewed the status of various infrastructure-related works at Daspalla Railway Station.
The Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project, a prioritized initiative with a strong focus on public welfare, is under the regular monitoring of the Hon’ble Railway Minister, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw. This project is expected to significantly contribute to the economic development of the region and enhance socio-cultural connectivity between Western Odisha and Coastal Odisha.
Of the total 301 km length of the Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project, 152.8 km has been successfully completed, encompassing approximately 105 km from Khurda Road to Dasapalla and about 47 km from Balangir to Sonepur. ECoR has set a target to finish an additional 73 km of rail line, connecting Sonepur to Purunakatak, in the year 2024.
