CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar celebrates birth anniversary of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar
Bhubaneswar: The 133rd Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Jayanti was fervently celebrated at the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT), Bhubaneswar. Held at the SS Bhatnagar Hall of CSIR-IMMT, the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 300 individuals, including 100 students from various schools in Bhubaneswar. It served as a tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy and his significant contributions to society.
Dr. N K Dhal, Vice-Chairman of the Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration Committee, warmly welcomed all attendees. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Ramanuj Narayan, Director of CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar, with Shri Upendra Nath Behera IAS (Retd.), Former Chairperson of OERC, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Behera enlightened the gathering with insights into Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s life and achievements, inspiring the school children present.
A highlight of the event was the keynote address by Dr. Dillip Kumar Behera, an Eminent Social Activist and Member of International Human Rights, UNO. Dr. Behera shared valuable perspectives on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s life journey and underscored the significance of uplifting the marginalized sections of society. He also distributed prizes to the top performers of the RRL Project U.P. School and winners of various competitions.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Behera, Senior Principal Scientist and convener of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration Committee, conveyed gratitude to all participants and contributors, marking the conclusion of the event. It served as a poignant reminder of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy and the ongoing endeavors to promote equality and social justice.
The celebration concluded with a vibrant cultural program in the evening, infusing joy and artistic expression into the commemoration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy. Participants enjoyed performances celebrating diversity, unity, and inclusivity, echoing the values championed by Dr. Ambedkar. The cultural program served as a fitting tribute, reinforcing the message of empowerment and solidarity within the community.
