CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates 5 Teaching Hospitals In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated teaching hospitals across various government medical colleges in the state, aiming to enhance the healthcare infrastructure significantly. Additionally, he laid the foundation stones for the transformation of four medical colleges into world-class facilities.
The teaching hospitals inaugurated by the Chief Minister include:
- The 650-bed Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir
- The 650-bed Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada
- The 500-bed Government Medical College and Hospital in Sundargarh
- The 500-bed Dharni Dhar Medical College and Hospital in Keonjhar
- The Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital with 650 beds in Balasore
Furthermore, foundation stones were laid for upgrading the infrastructure of several medical institutions, including the Acharya Harihar Postgraduate Cancer Research Institute in Cuttack, MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH), and Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla.
Addressing the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of these initiatives, stating that they represent a significant milestone in Odisha’s healthcare sector. The addition of a total of 2,950 beds across five medical college hospitals in a single day demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services. He further noted that the state government has invested more than Rs 2,000 crore in these endeavors.
Regarding the foundation stones laid for the transformation of four medical institutions, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government is poised to invest over Rs 3,400 crore for this purpose, indicating a substantial commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure across the state.
