Animesh Pradhan from Odisha bags 2nd rank in UPSC civil services -2023
Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services Mains 2023 on Tuesday, bringing honor to Odisha. Animesh Pradhan, hailing from Bhalugadia village in the Talcher region of Angul district, achieved the remarkable feat of securing the second rank nationwide in this coveted examination. Aditya Srivastava clinched the coveted All India Rank (AIR) 1, while Donuru Ananya Reddy secured the third position.
Animesh had previously cleared the Odisha Civil Services Examination and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from NIT Rourkela, which he completed in 2021. His academic journey began at Kalinga DAV School in Talcher, where he excelled, securing an impressive 98.4% in the 12th grade. Presently, he serves as an employee at the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Delhi.
Despite facing the loss of both his parents, including his father, the former Principal of Hingula College, in 2017, and his mother’s passing last January, Animesh persevered. His sister is currently employed in the horticulture department in Chendipada, Angul district. Today, Animesh’s resilience and dedication have borne fruit.
Other accomplished individuals from Odisha within the top 100 ranks include Prajnanandan Giri at rank 24, Ayushi Pradhan at rank 36, Jayashree Pradhan at rank 52, and Abhimanyu Malik at rank 60.
In a social media post on X, CM Naveen extended heartfelt congratulations to the successful candidates from Odisha who cleared the UPSC examination. He expressed his hopes for them to serve with unwavering dedication, bringing welfare initiatives to the grassroots, and wished them prosperous careers ahead.
