OSWC Handed Over E-Vehicle To Capital Hospital
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) handed over a 10-seater electric vehicle to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, at the cost of Rs. 11.90 lakh from its CSR fund. This commendable initiative was celebrated with an event held at the Hospital Campus today. Shri Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Minister of FS & CW, Cooperation, and Higher Education, graciously handed over the vehicle to the Director of Capital Hospital during the ceremony.
Capital Hospital, a prestigious healthcare institution recently designated as a Post Graduate Institute, sprawls across 25 acres of land, accommodating 750 beds. It caters to approximately 5500 patients daily.
The introduction of this electric vehicle will significantly assist patients, persons with disabilities (PWDs), children, and senior citizens in navigating the campus swiftly and comfortably to access various departments for treatment.
OSWC, renowned for providing warehousing and logistic support to the agriculture sector, operates 68 warehouses across 30 districts in the state. Primarily focusing on the scientific storage of food grains for distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS) and other government welfare schemes, OSWC is a profitable Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Cooperation Department. It actively contributes to CSR activities from its net profits.
The event saw the presence of distinguished individuals including Smt. Manjushree Badhai, Chairperson; Dr. Ganeswar Jena, Managing Director; Smt. Ranjita Sahoo, Secretary; Smt. Smitanjali Swain, FA & CAO; Miss Supriya Swain, CGM; and Shri N.K. Mishra, General Manager from OSWC. Dr. Laxmidhar Sahoo, Director of Capital Hospital, along with Dr. Dillip Kumar Panda, Superintendent, Dr. Dhananjaya Das, Deputy Superintendent, and other officers from Capital Hospital also graced the occasion. The commendable efforts of OSWC in serving the community and promoting environmental sustainability were duly acknowledged and appreciated.
