Konark: In an effort to unveil Odisha’s authentic charm beyond its renowned sites, the Odisha government is encouraging investors and tour operators to explore captivating locations situated 200 km away from the capital city. Daringbadi, renowned for its captivating scenery, pledges an incomparable adventure, beckoning stakeholders to immerse themselves in the genuine essence of Odisha.
During the 5th Odisha Travel Bazaar 2024’s Business-to-Government (B2G) meeting at Eco Retreat, Konark, government officials stressed the importance of broadening tourism offerings. They urged investors to explore lesser-known destinations, fostering a deeper connection with the true spirit of Odisha. The government is receptive to feedback, aiming to create a more dynamic and inclusive tourism policy.
To support investors, the state is undergoing significant infrastructure enhancements, including the development of new airports, roads, and hotels across Odisha. This initiative aims to lay a solid foundation for the expansion of tourism beyond traditional destinations.
The B2G meeting witnessed industry leaders providing valuable suggestions on various tourism segments such as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Tourism, wildlife tourism, and Caravan tourism. They advocated for the incorporation of these suggestions into the state’s tourism policy to enrich its overall appeal.
The interactive Industry roundtable featured prominent figures, including Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Shri Surendra Kumar, Tourism Director Sachin Ramchandra Yadav, and representatives from IHCL (Taj), Indian Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), Yatra, MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, and others. These key stakeholders shared insights and recommendations, contributing to the advancement of Odisha’s progressive tourism policies.
