Angul District Festival Concludes

Angul: The three-day Angul District Festival concluded at Angul Stadium on Sunday. The State Environment and Tourism Minister, Pradeep Kumar Amat, joined as the chief guest for the closing ceremony.
Minister Amat highlighted in his address that district festivals play a pivotal role in promoting folk art and music and fostering community bonds. The state has undertaken various initiatives to uplift the cultural landscape, including providing allowances to numerous deserving artists across Odisha.
Dignitaries such as Angul MLA Rajnikant Singh, Talcher MLA Brajkishore Pradhan, Chendipada MLA Sushant Kumar Behera, Pallahada MLA Mukesh Pal, District Council Chairperson Babita Pradhan, Youth Welfare Chairperson Kuna Bihari Das, and student leader Chinmay Sahu were among the esteemed guests of honor at the event. The festival featured captivating performances, including Mayurbhanj Chhau dance, Bhangda, Gida, and Jindua dances from Punjab. Modern dance performances by Satyajit, Akanksha, Shailendra, and Bandita also enthralled the audience.
During the ceremony, the guests unveiled the festival’s souvenirs, and District Collector Siddharth Shankar extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The festival included a spectacular fireworks display, while a morning session featured a seminar and poetry recital presided over by Prof. Kumud Das. Padmashree Antaryami Mishra contributed to the seminar, discussing the rich literary and cultural heritage of Angul district.
Educationist Shantanu Kumar Sar, Dr. Dharnidhar Nath, and Biranchi Samal participated as guests of honor, sharing insights into the profound impact of language, literature, and culture on our lives. Additionally, Angul Additional District Collector Pratap Prithimay’s book “Ananya Angul” and few other books were launched during the meeting.
