Public Hearing Held for Environmental Clearance of Tata Steel Mines’ Gandhalpada Iron Mine
Joda: A public hearing concerning the Environmental Clearance of the Gandhalpada Iron Mine operated by Tata Steel Mining Limited held at Gandhalpada in the Barbil Tahsil of Keonjhar District on Wednesday. The purpose of the event was to address the proposed production of 10 Million Tons Per Annum (MTPA) with a total excavation of 18 MTPA across an area of 241.10 hectares encompassing Gandhalpada, Guali, and Barpada under the Badbil Tahsil of Keonjhar district.
Ghasiram Murmu, the Project Director of the District Urban Development Agency, presided over the meeting, with Prasant Kar, Regional Officer of the State Pollution Control Board in Keonjhar, in attendance. During the meeting, the local residents voiced their support for the company, emphasizing their requests for a new hospital, environmental enhancements, the establishment of new forests, improved health services, and increased employment opportunities for the local populace.
In conclusion, Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, the General Manager (OMQ), addressed the concerns and demands raised by the residents during the meeting.
