Plane Bursts Into Flames on the Runway after Landing at Tokyo Airport
Tokyo: As per reports, a plane in Japan experienced a fire incident after landing at Tokyo airport. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, the Japanese news agency NHK has provided significant details about the event. The plane caught fire after it collided with a coastguard aircraft, according to NHK reporters.
Numerous international media outlets have shared footage of the incident, revealing flames emanating from the plane’s windows and below. The aircraft involved in the fire was identified as JAL 516, a flight originating from Hokkaido operated by Japan Airlines. The flight, scheduled to depart from New Chitose Airport at 4:00 PM local time, was intended to arrive at Haneda at 17:40 PM.
According to a report from the Japan Times, all 367 individuals aboard the plane were successfully evacuated before the fire escalated, and the situation is currently under control. Remarkably, no injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
