CM Naveen inaugurates Ernst & Young’s cutting-edge Technology Hub
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Patnaik, today inaugurated Ernst & Young’s cutting-edge technology hub in Bhubaneswar. Renowned globally for its expertise in assurance, tax, strategy, transactions, and consulting services, Ernst & Young has expanded its footprint to its 15th city in India with this new hub. This strategic move underscores the firm’s dedication to contributing to the state’s burgeoning economic strength and dynamic business environment.
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik emphasized Odisha’s remarkable progress in various sectors, expressing confidence in the state’s evolution toward a “New Odisha” built on novel ideas, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He highlighted the state’s embrace of the digital era and the fostering of an environment conducive to groundbreaking advancements. The opening of the EY Technology Centre was hailed as a pivotal moment, symbolizing the rapid transformation of Odisha’s IT, strategy, and consulting landscape.
On the occasion ,Minister of Electronics and IT Shri Tusharkanti Behera, echoed these sentiments, designating the EY Technology Centre as a cornerstone in the ESDM & Semiconductor space in Odisha. Under Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik’s leadership, Bhubaneswar has emerged as a hub for IT, ESDM, and consulting companies and the establishment of EY’s Technology Centre is seen as a catalyst for creating opportunities for the state’s youth and boosting the economy.
Shri Manoj Kumar Mishra, Principal Secretary of the Electronics & IT Department, Government of Odisha, emphasized that EY’s presence in Bhubaneswar signifies confidence in the state’s potential and solidifies Odisha’s status as an attractive investment destination. The new Technology Hub, spanning 15,000 sq ft at O-Hub, is expected to enhance the state’s IT ecosystem, generating employment opportunities for both existing professionals and talent from Odisha’s technical educational ecosystem.
Gaurav Taneja, Partner & National Director – Government & Public Sector at EY, highlighted the importance of expanding technology centers to meet clients’ evolving needs in their business transformation journey. The Bhubaneswar hub, strategically located in a key talent hub, is poised to deliver impactful work for clients globally.
The EY Technology Hub aligns with EY’s mission of “Building a Better Working World,” providing quality services that instill trust and confidence in capital markets worldwide. EY India’s expanded presence now spans 15 cities, including Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, NCR (New Delhi + Gurgaon + Noida), and Pune.
Noteworthy efforts by the Electronics and IT Department of the Government of Odisha to attract major investments in the IT/ITES & ESDM sector have resulted in the establishment of Global Development & Outsourcing Centres by prominent global players like IBM, PWC, Deloitte, Concentrix, Happiest Minds, Infosys BPM, Synopsys, and Accenture in the state.
