5T Chairman V. K. Pandian Visits Mission Shakti Bazar
Bhubaneswar: Shri V. K. Pandian, Chairman of Nabin Odisha, visited the Mission Shakti Bazaar, which is currently under construction in the heart of the capital city. The expansive Mission Shakti Bazaar promises to captivate urban customers with its upcoming completion. Developed as part of the 5T initiative, the bazaar is in its final stages of development and will soon open its doors to customers. Spanning across 10 thousand square feet, it will showcase and offer for sale a wide array of Mission Shakti Self Help Group (SHG) products sourced from various regions of the state.
With a diverse range of a thousand farm and non-farm products initially, including hand-pounded red rice, Berhampur pickles, the renowned Kandhamala Haldi, Nuapada honey, Mayurbhanj sabai products, Kendrapara golden grass products, Keonjhar phula Badi, and many more, the bazaar aims to provide a boutique shopping experience highlighting the richness of SHG products.
Apart from meeting the retail requirements of Bhubaneswar customers, it also aims to facilitate connections between large-scale buyers and SHG producers. Additionally, it is poised to become a significant feature on Odisha’s tourism map, showcasing authentic handmade products by female artisans.
Under the HCM’s 5T initiative, the Mission Shakti Bazaar signifies a significant step in transitioning SHGs into small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Sri Kartik Pandian expressed his satisfaction with the progress, citing it as a prime example of woman-led entrepreneurship. The management of the bazaar will be entrusted to the Khurda Matrushakti Farmers Producer Company, which comprises women SHGs as shareholders, further empowering women in the region.
