Vedanta Aluminium 3rd largest revenue generator for Indian Railways in Sambalpur division

Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda operations of Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, have recently been recognized as the top revenue generator for Indian Railways in the Sambalpur Division. Shri Tushar Kant Pandey, Divisional Railways Manager, Sambalpur Division, along with Shri Tanmay Mukhopadhyay, Senior Divisional Operating Manager, and Shri S S Nayak, Senior Divisional Safety Officer, honored the company for this achievement at a special event held at its aluminium plant in Jharsuguda.

The event featured a safety rally underscoring Vedanta’s unwavering commitment to safety and efficient logistics management. Employees and business partners actively participated in quizzes and drawing competitions themed around the illustrious history and heritage of Indian Railways.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Sunil Gupta, COO of Vedanta Aluminium, expressed gratitude, stating, “Being recognized by Indian Railways as the top revenue generator in the Sambalpur Division is truly humbling.

Highlighting Vedanta’s contributions, Shri Tushar Kant Pandey, Divisional Railways Manager, Sambalpur Division, emphasized, “Empowered by a dynamic team of young engineers and safety experts, Vedanta is elevating railway logistics and safety standards. Vedanta stands as the primary revenue contributor in our division, and we eagerly anticipate strengthening and expanding this partnership further.”

Operating on a significant scale in Jharsuguda, Vedanta Aluminium boasts the world’s largest aluminium smelter with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tonnes. Benefiting from strategic geographical positioning in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, the company ensures seamless global operations with its vertically integrated assets. In line with its mission to promote a circular economy, Vedanta Aluminium has set a record within Indian Railways by supplying the highest number of fly ash rakes to the cement and infrastructure industry, totaling 421.
