Berhampur: A free consultation camp for infertility was hosted at the Sitalapalli campus of SUM Hospital this past Sunday, drawing a significant turnout of childless couples from various parts of south Odisha. Professor (Dr.) Sujata Pradhan, Head of the Centre for Human Reproduction (CHR) at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar, provided counseling to the couples.
“Many couples received guidance on their challenges and were informed about necessary steps to address their issues during the camp,” mentioned Prof. (Dr.) Pradhan, highlighting the camp’s objective to offer proper advice to couples facing infertility issues.
These camps are scheduled to take place at the Sitalapalli campus of SUM Hospital every third Sunday of the month in collaboration with CHR, as stated by Mr. Deba Prasad Dash, the hospital’s Director. The event saw the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Lenka, Medical Superintendent of the Phulnakhara campus of IMS and SUM Hospital. Dr. Smrutiranjan Patnaik, Dr. Subhasis Panigrahi, and Dr. Rishika Sen from SUM Hospital, Sitalapalli, along with Dr. Subhangi Jena from IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, led the proceedings. Assistant Nursing Superintendent Ms. Archana Priyadarshini Tripathy, Nursing In-charge Ms. Iti Srabani, along with other nursing and clinical staff, also participated in the camp.
