Bhubaneswar: Students of legal studies from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) marked Constitution Day with a distinctive celebration on Sunday. The event, organized by students from the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), aimed to convey the principles of equality, brotherhood, and secularism through a small act performed at a bustling city mall.
The initiative, taken by the legal studies students, sought to enhance public awareness regarding the constitution, its formation, and the rights and duties of citizens. The proceedings commenced with a recitation of the Constitution’s preamble in both English and Hindi, serving as a poignant reminder of the foundational principles guiding the nation.
The participants, in a creative expression through poetry, highlighted the significance of constitutional rights, duties, and the vision embodied in the Directive Principles of State Policy, which have shaped India into a welfare state.
As an integral part of this dynamic event, the students engaged in dialogues with school children and the general public, fostering awareness about the Constitution. An Associate Professor from SNIL emphasized, “This showcases how educational institutions can actively contribute to the dissemination of knowledge crucial to every citizen.” The celebration underscored the students’ commitment to promoting constitutional awareness and civic education.
