Bhubaneswar: The School of Hotel Management (SHM), a part of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), achieved the prestigious title of the state’s ICONIC Hospitality Management Institute for 2023 during the Times Hospitality Icons event held on Tuesday.
Professor Susant Ranjan Chaini, the Dean of SHM, graciously accepted this recognition on behalf of the institute from the distinguished actor Shamita Shetty. SHM was acknowledged for its commitment as a responsible and forward-thinking hospitality institution. It actively engages in the development and implementation of skill development programs, establishes benchmarks in global hospitality education, and collaborates with industry stakeholders to enhance skills within the tourism and hospitality sector.

During the event, Professor Chaini, accompanied by renowned personalities such as Sudarshan Pattnaik, the legendary sand artist from the state, Mr. Samir Hans, Vice-President of the Restaurant Association of Odisha, and Priyanath Behera, Vice-President of Swosti Group of Hotels, shared valuable insights into the hospitality sector in Odisha. They discussed the pivotal role played by institutes like SHM in shaping the future leaders and managers of the hospitality industry.
